TAPA # 250 THE ART OF THE SELL OUT!!!

“The art of selling out” is the willingness to sacrifice one’s principles, integrity, loyalty, or moral convictions in exchange for power, money, or personal gain. Of course, applying that definition to Trump may be misleading. After all, what principles, integrity, or moral convictions does he have left to sacrifice? But when it comes to the relentless pursuit of power, money, and personal gain, Trump has elevated selling out to an art form.

No president in American history has so consistently demonstrated deceit, disloyalty, and dishonesty toward those who placed their trust in him. Just ask Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, or any of our other NATO allies who once regarded America’s word as its bond.

Ask the Kurds and Afghans who depended on American promises.

Ask the people of African nations whose humanitarian needs have been subordinated to Trump’s political agenda.

Ask the families of children in impoverished countries who depended on American medical assistance and nutritional support, only to see those lifelines cut off, with devastating and fatal consequences.

Ask the American families struggling to put food on the table after Trump’s cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Ask the millions of Americans facing the loss of affordable health insurance, forced to choose between food, medicine, and seeing a doctor.

Ask the expectant mothers who must travel ever-greater distances for maternity care as financially distressed hospitals close obstetric units or shut their doors entirely.

Ask the family of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, whose efforts to strengthen sanctions against Russia have been undermined by Trump’s willingness to ease economic pressure on Putin.

Ask the countless Ukrainian families who have lost parents, spouses, children, and friends to Putin’s brutal invasion.

Ask those who once believed America would stand firmly behind their struggle for freedom, only to watch Trump extend concessions to their aggressor, Putin.

Ask the families of American service members killed or maimed in Trump’s war with Iran.

Ask why their loved ones were not protected, whether the war was necessary, and whether their sacrifices advanced America’s national interests.

And, finally, ask ordinary Americans a simple question: Has Trump made your family safer, healthier, more financially secure, or more hopeful about the future?

Trump’s Faustian bargain threatens to bankrupt more than America’s Treasury. It threatens to bankrupt our national integrity, our credibility among allies, and the moral authority that generations of Americans worked and sacrificed to establish. Meanwhile, his fiscal policies add to an already staggering national debt, jeopardizing the prosperity of our children and grandchildren.

Trump has made his choices. His actions tell us where his priorities lie: personal power over public service, political advantage over principle, and accommodation of authoritarian leaders over steadfast support for democratic allies.

Now Americans must make theirs.

We can continue down a road of betrayal, diminished prosperity, and declining international standing, or we can reclaim the principles upon which this nation was founded.

The presidency is not Trump’s personal possession. Congress does not belong to MAGA. The government belongs to the American people.

And the American people possess something far more powerful than Trump’s money, political machinery, or appetite for power: the vote!

It is time to reject ‘the sellout’ and take back our government and remind those who have sold out America’s interests that our democracy is not theirs to sell.

VOTE!!!

RESIST!!! & EDUCATE!!!
