The origin of the word prostitute is the Latin prostituere, meaning “to put forth publicly” or “to offer something of value for sale in a manner considered degrading or dishonorable.” In ancient Rome, the term evolved to mean offering one’s body, what many regard as sacred, for sale. A person who did so became a prostitute, and the act became known as prostitution.
Ironically, Trump has some family history associated with actual prostitution. During the Klondike Gold Rush, it has been reported that his grandfather operated establishments that included brothels. Thus, prostitution has, at least historically, been connected to the family business. Perhaps this has some bearing on Trump’s modus operandi.
Trump has not sold his body, although who would buy a bloated tub of lard filled with you-know-what? Nevertheless, he is selling off precious governmental assets for the purpose of filling his own pockets. Like a pimp, he clears the way through the power of the presidency for friends and family to profit at our expense. To add insult to injury, it is all done publicly, purportedly protected by the immunity our Supreme Court bestowed upon presidents acting within their official authority.
Just last week, Trump reportedly told us he did not care about the financial struggles of ordinary Americans and that he “loves inflation.” Of course he loves inflation. His policies have driven inflation higher, costing the average American family hundreds of dollars more each month, while Trump is raking it in. Most families have not experienced income increases sufficient to offset these costs. They must decide what they can afford to survive; to pay for food, clothing, shelter; the necessities of life.
Meanwhile, old “Bone Spurs” is spending billions of taxpayer dollars on a war that he insists is not a war, yet he often describes as one. It is a conflict Trump initiated; one many believe was unnecessary and destructive. For what purpose? To return to a situation that arguably provides less protection than the one he dismantled in 2018? Trump’s war has cost American lives, killed tens of thousands of people, increased the national debt, destabilized the global economy, and devastated the homes and livelihoods of the very people he claimed he would help.
Domestically, Trump has driven up prices, devastated farmers and agricultural businesses, harming both producers and consumers through higher food costs and shortages. Adding further injury, his pogrom-like immigration policies have torn apart hardworking families who contributed to the American economy through their labor and taxes. Farmers and business owners across multiple industries have pleaded for relief as labor shortages worsen.
Healthcare, another pillar of a healthy society and productive workforce, is also under attack. Reductions in health insurance subsidies threaten access to care, contribute to poorer health outcomes, and place additional financial pressure on hospitals, particularly in rural communities. Likewise, cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, included in the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” which transfers benefits upward through tax breaks for the wealthy while increasing the national debt and creating both short and long-term health consequences for vulnerable Americans. A nation as wealthy as ours can afford to care for its people.
Tariffs on foreign goods, which are ultimately paid by American consumers, have further increased the cost of living. They are driving international business away from American firms toward suppliers viewed as more stable and dependable. The resulting realignment of global production and trade relationships will carry significant economic and national security consequences for America’s future.
Trump’s erratic withdrawal from Pacific trade partnerships and his punitive treatment of Canada and Mexico, longtime allies and trading partners, are examples of policies that undermine America’s prosperity, influence, and security.
While all of this is happening to the bottom 75 percent of Americans, Trump continues to enrich himself, his family, and his associates. By ‘pimping’ access, selling influence, monetizing technology, and opening pathways to private profit through public policy, he is stuffing their pockets while ordinary Americans struggle.
The Trump Organization reportedly generated approximately $600 million in revenue in 2024. In the first half of 2025, Trump’s businesses reportedly generated $864 million, with the overwhelming majority, $802 million tied to cryptocurrency ventures, an industry he once criticized but later embraced. Much of that investment reportedly originated from Gulf-region sources whose interests are directly affected by presidential policy decisions.
Folks, what we are witnessing is not merely the prostitution of America. It is the Trumpstitution of America, and I submit that it is worse. Not only is our present being battered while Trump’s wealth expands, but our future is being placed under extraordinary assault.
There is little reason to expect the current Republican-controlled Congress to provide responsible oversight. Our best hope is a change in political control this November. Every one of us must exercise our right to vote, whether by mail or in person.
Stop Trumpstitution!!!!
