First let me say I’m thankful for the reprieve and I’ll gladly take the TACO

However, Iran’s regime and uranium remain in place. The Strait of Hormuz is now restricted, with possible tolls that could cost the world billions. More than $50 billion in U.S. treasure has been spent. Russia and Iran continue selling oil, now at higher prices because of the American-Israeli attack. Iran’s leverage in the world has grown. America’s reputation has fallen further. Americans are paying a war tax at the pump. Trump’s legacy is in the toilet.

What a deal.

But it is hardly surprising if one looks back at Trump’s business record. This is simply another grim walk through the dark park of his imagined competence and delusional sense of intellectual prowess.

Yes, Iran’s infrastructure has been decimated. That is a tactical victory for the military. But the Iranian government is still standing and, strategically, may be in a stronger position. The true tragedy, however, is the loss of life: thousands dead, including 13 of our service members, more than 150 children, and countless noncombatants who had nothing to do with the war effort except being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Neither Trump nor his Republican moral zombies appear capable of understanding that reality. They cower behind a facade of religious righteousness while the world condemns their inhumanity and their failure to improve the lives of Americans or of whatever allies remain.

Any objective evaluation of Trump’s performance would end in removal. There is no board of directors, faced with the facts of a tactically well-executed but strategically disastrous (oxymoronic?) defeat, that would not fire the executive responsible. He has harmed the company-country economically, damaged its product, and undermined its legitimacy.

And if the board refused to act, the shareholders would vote them out.

It is time for our board to fulfill its fiduciary duty to the company-country. If the U.S. Congress fails to act, then the shareholders must.
