THE AMERICAN POSEIDON ADVENTURE

America’s current condition is best described as a toxic blend of Captain Ahab aboard the Pequod and Captain Queeg on the Caine. In truth, we might be better off with either of them at the helm. The ship of state is stranded on a sandbar, drifting toward the shoals, while those who could act, Republicans in Congress, sit idle, hands folded.

This is a Republican-made crisis.

The Constitution provides safeguards against a rogue or unstable president. Yet those entrusted to uphold them have abdicated their duty and violated their oaths. There has rarely, if ever, been a more glaring display of limp leadership.

Consider this in corporate terms: What board of directors would tolerate a CEO who blows through budgets with borrowed money, demands more, degrades the brand, refuses to pay critical vendors, creates operational chaos, weakens security amid rising risk, and leaves employees working in unsafe conditions with no plan to fix them?

Answer: none.

And if a board refused to act, it would be replaced. Because shareholders do not sit quietly while their company is dismantled.

We are those shareholders. The “company” is the well-being of our families and the stability of our nation. If those entrusted with stewardship refuse to act, then we must.

Vote them out!!!
