TAPA # 182 IF THE SHOE FITS – DON’T WEAR IT !!!

The Trump administration, or the “Bone Spurs Goes to War” saga, makes the Mad Hatter’s tea party in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland look like a Mensa meeting. With Trump-speak, you assume the opposite is true and the commitments are false.

Anyone who knew Trump from his casino days knows the drill: hype the business, spend recklessly, borrow to prop up insolvency until the last lender is tapped out, then walk away with bulging pockets, leaving investors and creditors high and dry. That was Trump’s casino legacy. It now risks becoming America’s.

We were promised peace through his uniquely “sly” negotiating skills. Prices would drop on “day one.” The self-proclaimed “stable genius” would end the war in Ukraine and outmaneuver Putin. Instead, we get claims, reversals, and contradictions: mass deportations paired with civil rights concerns; promises of manufacturing growth amid reported job losses; vows to reduce the national debt as it climbs to record levels.

Allies hesitate to trust us. Inflation trends upward. Job growth has stagnated. New graduates face a weak market. Fewer Americans, especially those living paycheck to paycheck, have health insurance. Government dysfunction shows up in shutdown threats and strained public services.

But there is one problem this president seems determined to solve: shoes.

In a fitting metaphor, he appears to treat his cabinet like horses in a stable, inspecting, sizing, and shoeing them for loyalty rather than competence. Call it a “farrier complex.” Black Florsheim’s for all, whether they fit or not.

Which style do you think comports with their performance?
